Richard holds an MPhil in Finance and a Diploma in Teaching and Education. He is passionate about teaching, learning and academic research.

He is currently an ALS manager at United Colleges Group where is spends most of his work days and teaches Maths online whenever he can.

Richard is a Christian, loves the Lord and likes to spend time at home with his lovely wife and daughter.

Work closely with the Assistant Principal responsible for ALS to deliver an outstanding Additional Learning Support (ALS) service. Management of ALS provision across sites and High Need (HN) learners, ensuring all student additional learning needs are met in line with statutory regulations. Liaise with all relevant external stakeholders and work closely with those supporting the students’ needs.

Carry out initial assessment, and devise support plans as well as teaching and learning strategies for students with additional needs at the United Colleges group campuses. Devise an appropriate Individual Learning Programme (ILP) for the students you support and to review the ILP accordingly. Deliver 1:1 and small group support to students with additional learning support needs, including dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia, autism and mental health needs.

Support the Head Invigilator/ Examination Team. Specifically, invigilating during examinations, dealing with queries raised by candidates and dealing with examination irregularities in accordance with strict procedures; ensuring that candidates do not talk once inside the examination venue; checking attendance during examinations; and other roles to ensure the smooth running of the university’s exams.
